Select a fabric with a repeating pattern and multiple colors. Larger prints work best.
The amount of fabric needed is based on the length of the repeat of the design. Standard lengths
are 8, 12, 18, and 24 inches. You need 6 times the repeat plus any additional yardage for binding
and/or backing.

If you want to make contrasting, three dimensional cubes, select at least three (3) additional
fabrics – 1 light, 1 medium, and 1 dark - that complement or contrast with the focus fabric. One
quarter yard or fat quarter of each will make a good number of cubes.
The size of your finished quilt will vary, so backing, batting, and binding fabric will be based on
the final size of your quilt top.
