Sewing professionals and educators from all over the U.S. had gathered in Houston, Texas for the annual Quilt Festival in the fall of 1997. During a casual conversation the subject of sewing chairs came up and one by one the friends shared their frustration at not finding a sewing chair that was swell made and comfortable.
